7, 1939, in Mishawaka, he married Ruth C. Rohrbaugh. She died Nov. 13, 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Christine Gouge of Garland, Texas; two sons, Larry E.

of Mishawaka, and Raymond E. of Livonia, 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl of Tempe, Ariz. He attended the University of Notre Dame and was a member of Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, Osceola, and American Society of Metallurgists. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bubb Funeral Chapel Downtown, 202 N.

Harold R. Boone March 21, 1920-May 28, 1991 MISHAWAKA Harold R. Boone, 71, of 12778 Day Road, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's I Medical Center, South Bend.

Mr. Boone was a metallurgical engineer retiring in 1985 from the AM General Division of LTV South Bend. He previously worked for Allied MR. BOONE Products Eric Daniel Covey Dec. 26, 1985-May 21, 1991 SOUTH BEND Eric Daniel Covey, 5, of Bloomington, died May 21 following an automobile accident on Indiana 45, near Unionville, Ind.

Eric was born Dec. 26, 1985, in Indianapolis. He is survived by his parents, Joann "Terry" (Parent) and Lawrence M. Covey Jr. of Bloomington; a sister, Kelly at home; two brothers, Nathaniel and Nicholas, both at home; maternal grandparents, Joann and Vito Cinefra of South Bend; paternal grandparents, Betty and Lawrence Covey of Elkhart.

INDIANA-MICHIGAN Katrina K. Brumley Jan. 27, 1951-May 28, 1991 EDWARDSBURG Katrina "Kay" Brumley, 40, of 19350 State Line Road, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in her home after an illness. Mrs.

Brumley was a retail clerk at mart on South Main Street, Elkhart. She was born Jan. 27, 1951, in Muncie, Ind. She moved to Edwardsburg 16 years ago from South Bend. On Aug.

24, 1974, in South Bend, she married Ernest "Bud" Brumley. He survives with three daughters, Sheila Wagner of Middlebury and Darlene Sheets and Charlotte Saures, both of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and William Bradburn of South Bend; four sisters, Peggy Killburn and Becky Bradburn, both of South Bend, Carla Kobiernik of Elkhart and Billie Bradburn of Edwardsburg; and two brothers, Richard Jenkins of Ohio and Robert Bradburn of South Bend. Veleria Feightner Emmert June 3, 1910-May 28, 1991 LIGONIER Veleria Feightner Emmert, 80, of 201 Vermont died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in Goshen General Hospital.

Mrs. Emmert was born June 3, 1910, in Kendallville, where she lived most of her life. On Oct. 27, 1927, in Kendallville, she married Howard A. Feightner.

He died in 1978. On Jan. 7, 1984, in South Milford, she married Arthur F. Emmert. He survives with a daughter, Barbara Hochstetler of Topeka; three sons, Homer, Forrest and Larry Feightner, all of Ligonier; three stepdaughters, Patty Franke of Wolcottville, Fanchon Resler of Goshen and Sandy Riegsecker of Ligonier; two stepsons, William Emmert of Albion, and John Emmert of Ligonier; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Gamble of Gladstone.

and two brothers, Chester Reid of Ligonier and Homer Reid of Deltona, Fla. She was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Topeka. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery, Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Heart Association. Mr. Harmon was a tool-and-die maker at Adams Engineering, South Bend, retiring in 1985 after 15 years. Before that, he worked 19 years at Studebaker Corp.

Mr. Harmon was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Miami County, and had been a lifelong resident. On Dec. 28, 1974, in Elkhart, he married the former Virginia Nagy.

She survives with two daughters, Priscilla Kitchen and Judith Meredith, both of South Bend; a son, Terry L. of Everett, a stepson, Stephen L. Nagy of Elkhart; 10 grand- Tuesday in Pawating Hospital, Niles. Mr. Frew was a retired golf professional.

He was born Sept. 7, 1899, in New Troy and lived in this area all his life. Surviving are a niece and nephew. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Oak Ridge CemeteryKnight Chapel.

LaVerne Hanafin, 78, of 1912 Benham died at 6:32 p.m. Monday in Elkhart General Hospital. Mrs. Hanafin retired in 1978 from Donovan-Hornbeck Insurance, where she was a secretary. She was born Feb.

20, 1913, in Chicago as LaVerne Carolan. On Sept. 16, 1940, in Bowling Green, Ohio, she married Michael J. Hanafin. He died Jan.

Mrs. Hendress was a teacher's aide at Wolcott Elementary School for 24 years. She was born March 30, 1926, in Reynolds, Jan. 2, 1991. Surviving are a daughter, LaDonna Bodley of Michigan City; a son, Donald A.

Miller, 66, of County Road 600 West and Highway 14, died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. Mrs. Miller was an English teacher, and taught in Thailand and the Philippines. She was a hospital supervisor in Liberia and was involved in various volunteer and refugee programs.

She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Medaryville. On Aug. 26, 1947, in Francesville, she married George W. Miller.

He survives with a daughter, Patricia A. Stephen Rashevich Jan. 5, 1943-May 28, 1991 MICHIGAN CITY Stephen Rashevich, 48, of 314 Gardena died Monday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Rashevich was a career agent, unit manager, sales adviser and agency manager with Farm Bureau Insurance since 1968. He was Jan.

5, 1943, in Gary. On July 28, 1990, in Michigan City, he married Lori L. White. She survives with a daughter, Anne Elizabeth Marslender of South Bend; a son, Stephen Andrew of South Bend; and a sister, Stephanie Anderson of Moline, Ill. He served with the Indiana National Guard for six years.

Scott was a retired school nurse, having worked for the Columbus Public Schools. She was born Feb. 27,1921, in South Bend. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Gary; a niece, Freda Dallas, and a sister, Margaret Alsanders, all of Columbus. She graduated from New York University and Ohio State University.

Mrs. Scott was a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, the Ohio Board of School Nursing and Good Shepherd Luthern Church, where she served on the board of trustees and the Women's Prayer Circle. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the church. Cremation will take place.

Victoria a longtime South Bend educator, died Tuesday night at St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. An educator in the South Bend Community School Corp. for 43 years, Mr. Newhard taught for 10 years before working as principal at the Colfax School, the E.M.

Morris Crippled Children's School, Franklin School, Marshall School, Studebaker School and finally at Coquillard School, from which he retired in 1977. During summers, Mr. Newhard taught at the New York State Teachers College on Long Island, N.Y., the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, Northwestern University in Evanston, and the University of Colorado in Boulder. He graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and earned a master's degree in 1945 from Northwestern. While working with the crippled children's school, Mr.

Mary Lee Sawtelle, 49, of 52089 Golden Rod Lane, Granger, died about 4 p.m. Monday of apparent accidental carbon monoxide poisoning in the home of a friend in Holland.

Officials with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said Sawtelle and the occupant of the home, Nelson R. Dyke 43, of Holland, are believed to have died of poisoning from a defective heater. In 1975, Mr. Newhard was named the first Indiana Principal of the Year. He was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Preble, and lived in South Bend since 1934.

On Aug. 25, 1937, he married the former Anna Mary Luse of Angola, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Judith Miller of South Bend and Rebecca Chamberlin of Groton, grandchildren; and a sister, Melvina Ross of Decatur, Ind. Two brothers, John and Dale, preceded him in death. Services will be at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church. Following services, friends will be greeted by the family in the social hall of the church. There will be no other visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William is in charge of arrangements.
